WHERE DO THE INSECTS COME FROM?

Most commonly insects are farmed. Insect farming is a renewable resource that allows native peoples to earn income without raising cattle in rainforest or using slash & brush methods of agriculture which destroy the surrounding environment for years to come.  Specimen are also obtained through vintage collections, found naturally dead outside, and occasionally pest control.

CAN YOU MAKE SOMETHING WITH AN INSECT I PROVIDE?

YES! Please make sure any obtained insects are clean of any critters. Place your specimen in an air tight container free of moisture and contact me!

WHAT DOES LOOSE SPECIMEN MEAN?

Loose specimen are sold AS IS loose. Mainly used for photo shoots, artists reference, etc. Specimen sold loose are shipped or delivered in cardboard boxes with a piece of styrofoam. The specimen will have one insect pin through it's thorax and several pins surrounding (though not penetrating) the specimen to keep it from rotating during the delivery process. Please remove surrounding pins prior to pulling specimen out of it's delivered box for safe handling.

CAN I TRAVEL WITH OR SHIP MY INSECTS?

YES! You may carry on or ship any insects purchased within the USA. To ship any wildlife overseas requires a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service permit. Please refer to fws.gov for more details on requiring permits and costs. We do not suggest carrying any animal products to Australia due to restrictive customs.
